The recommended method for applying sunscreen is a rule of 2 where you put two lines of sunscreen on your index & middle finger and then apply it to your face and neck.

While it is recommended that you reapply sunscreen at least 2-3 times in a day, it really depends on your activity levels. Sweat and increased sun exposure can break down the actives making the sunscreen work much faster than when you are indoors and at desk. This means the more your activity and exposure, the more your need to reapply sunscreen.
